ACTIVE PLAY AT ACROS

“Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.”

-Diane Ackerman

WHY ACTIVE PLAY IS VITAL

According to the Child Development Institute, 75 percent of brain development occurs after birth. Physical play helps a child to develop connections between the nerve cells and the brain. As these connections develop, a child's fine and gross motor skills, socialization, personal awareness, language, creativity and problem solving are improved. Ideal physical play incorporates play with social interactions and problem solving.

THE EXPERIENCE OF PLAY CHANGES THE CONNECTIONS OF THE NEURONS AT THE FRONT END OF YOUR BRAIN, AND WITHOUT PLAY EXPERIENCE, THOSE NEURONS AREN’T CHANGED.

We are thrilled to be located within the Acros Gymnastics Building (located near the intersection of highway 41 and Highway 57 behind Anchor Industries). As part of our program, participating children get daily supervised access to the gym where they can run, jump, and play, practice yoga and physical wellness. Each day Mr.Kyle transforms the “big gym” using the various mats and inflatables to create obstacle courses, mazes, forts, cave for trolls, and just about anything the kids request. Because the gym floor is padded with a hefty layer of foam, kids are able to test their strength and athletic skills without the fear of getting hurt on a hard floor.

Our Classroom is located at the rear entrance of the building; look for the teal door with our brainchild creations logo.

Our back lot is a work in progress, but have big plans for an outside area in the future; please excuse our mess while we are under construction.
